Coastal Leadership Academy Scenario-based Planning & Zoning Workshop

The Huron County Economic Development Corporation (EDC), East Michigan Council of Governments (EMCOG), and Michigan Coastal Management Program (MCMP) invite you to participate in the upcoming Huron County Coastal Leadership Academy Scenario-based Planning and Zoning Workshop. The Workshop is a free of charge training opportunity that introduces scenario-based planning, resilient zoning concepts, and data tools that can be used to address challenges specific to coastal communities. Free refreshments and lunch will be provided to all those who attend.

Scenario-based planning is a framework that allows coastal communities to engage in creative visioning for the future around which the community can plan. Scenario-based planning allows for adaptive, resilient planning because it plots different future narratives against each other.

The workshop is structured for coastal community decision-makers who are interested in planning for coastal resilience in their municipality or region. Elected officials, planning and zoning staff, planning commission members, and other key community leaders are invited to participate. We ask that you assemble a group of your fellow community members and attend as a team, but individuals are also welcome.
